dawnphotography-393 dawnphotography-402 dawnphotography-400 dawnphotography-390 dawnphotography-421 dawnphotography-408 dawnphotography-411
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in the past, but a growing up (from 5 years old until I was a senior in high school) I was an athlete. Soccer and track were my main sports but I did pretty well when it came to other physical activities or sports I tried. I even was offered a scholarship to a small community college but I decided to turn it down in order to really pursue blogging. Anyways, so as an adult now, I've been trying to get back into my healthy routine and start making running a part of my life again. I run on a treadmill, nothing too fancy, but it's peaked my interest in activewear again. Outdoor Voices is a brand I've been seeing pop up recently all over my instagram feed and I've heard friends talk about it so I had been wanting to try it out for myself. The brand kind of reminds me of the "Glossier" of activewear, anyone feel the same?

Anyways, so I thought I would do a post and share my opinion of the pieces I tried! I was gifted the pieces from a PR company but this is in no way a paid post. I thought this just might be of interest and helpful for you! So I was gifted four different pieces, two of them I am wearing in the photos above.

This is honestly your standard cropped tank/sports bra. I love that the coverage goes down a bit more under the chest so that I do feel more comfortable wearing it as a top. The fabric is really soft, no itchy tags or anything and it dries fairly quickly. I am pretty flat chested, so I don't know how good this bra would be for bustier chests. But overall, I like this bra/crop!
PROS: Quick drying, Full/Longer Coverage, Soft Fabric/No Itchy Tag
CONS: Might not be suitable/Supportive for larger busts

Ok, these are probably my least favorite from the four pieces I tried. These leggings are SO comfy and soft, which I think makes them most suitable for running errands or lounging around the house. But when I tried to actually exercise in these, I noticed myself having to pull them up a lot and that got annoying after awhile. I really wanted to love these because of the style. But I think I will use these mostly at home or for a Target run.
PROS: Soft Frabic
CONS: Tend to fall down/have to constantly pull them up during exercise

These are my new favorite leggings! I was most excited to try these out, mostly because I love the design and color blocking. But what is even better is that these leggings are comfortable, great for running/physical activity and they're stylish! I definitely see myself getting a second color way soon. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about these leggings. They didn't leave my legs this entire weekend at the coast!
PROS: Comfortable, Stay put during exercise, Pocket for cards/money
CONS: None!

Bike shorts are SO popular right now and I am all about them! I was super exited to try these out. I love the available color options and thought they would be fun to pair with graphic tees and sneakers for a quick on the go look. These shorts are super soft and comfortable, just like all of the other Outdoor Voices pieces. The one thing I don't like about these shorts is that they ride up just after taking a few steps. I constantly have to pull them down which gets really annoying after awhile. I think if these shorts were a tad bit longer as well as a bit more of a tighter fabric, they would be perfect. But they've been great for wear around the house or working at at home!
PROS: Soft, comfortable, wide band
CONS: Tend to ride up legs after movement

There you have it! My honest Outdoor Voices review! Overall, I really like the brand and would suggest trying them out. The pieces are all really comfortable and soft. They also offer interesting and trendy color ways which is nice. But there are some pieces that are ideal for the exercise I do. This could be different for someone else, this was just my experience and I wanted to share!
Let me know what is on your current Outdoor Voices wishlist!

You Gotta Fast Car - 90s Inspired Summer Dress

dawnphotography-86 dawnphotography-92 dawnphotography-108 dawnphotography-112 dawnphotography-122 dawnphotography-117 dawnphotography-98 dawnphotography-103 dawnphotography-116 dawnphotography-94 dawnphotography-124
Every gal needs a little floral mini this time of year. Perfect to beat the heat and a great go to for hanging out with friends under the sun. This one reminds me so much of the 90s/2000s. Something that one of the Spice Girls or Britney Spears would have worn back in the day. Both wear my idols when I was a girl so of course this dress really made me drool! I also just realized we didn't get any good photos of the back of this dress, but it has a really cute bow that really ties the dress together. See what I did there ;)
This is another summer uniform for me. Sandals, basket bag, and a cute dress. Easy and a way to stay cool and cute for summer. Also, couldn't help but drool over this car while we were in Palm Springs. I can only imagine what it would be like to drive this with all of the windows down in summer.

What I'm Wearing: Dress: c/o Faithfull the Brand, Bag: Doen - Sold Out (similar here), Sandals: Urban Outfitters, Lip Gloss: c/o Chanel - Rogue Coco Gloss in Excitation

*I found this dress to run a tad small, so I would suggest sizing up!

10 Linen Dresses To Try Now!

dawnphotography-46 dawnphotography-56 dawnphotography-77 dawnphotography-53 dawnphotography-55 dawnphotography-70 dawnphotography-47 dawnphotography-60 dawnphotography-64 dawnphotography-66
Summer is in full effect and so is the heat! One of the best fabrics this time of year is always linen. It makes everything instantly more effortless and cool and I end up wanted to buy everything I see! This dress was one of those "linen purchases". The buttons up the front and the slight puff in the shoulders, whipped together in linen really made it a great easy summer dress. The only thing I don't like about this dress is how short it is...but for that sort of thing I always make sure to put on bike shorts to ensure I won't have any accidental flashes lol
Unfortunately, I think this one I am wearing is sold out, but there is this romper here that is very similar!

So to make things easier on you, since I love you guys, I decided to round up 10 really great, really cute linen dresses that are ideal for right now!

1. Zara Button Romper (I know it's not a dress but it's similar!)

Make sure and finish off the look with some sandals or sneakers!

What do you think of Linen? Do you have a bunch of linen pieces in your closet for summer? I want to try and transition some of my linen pieces for fall too!

What I'm Wearing: Dress: Zara (Sold out I think?) Similar Romper here, Shoes: Mari Giudicelli, Bag: Vintage

Golden Hour Cactus

dawnphotography-214 dawnphotography-219 dawnphotography-220 dawnphotography-233 dawnphotography-228
One thing I loved about Palm Springs, is that practically every block and everywhere you turn is something beautiful. For instance, Dawn and I were driving around trying to find a place to shoot this last outfit. Then we just happened to drive by this enormous cactus that was just in front of a neighborhood. I was so in awe when I saw the photos and the incredible golden light that shined through the cactus. Maybe it's because I love plants so much, but it was so cool to drive around Palm Springs to see what I would find around the next corner.

Faithfull the brand has been an essential for my summer wardrobe for a couple of years now. Their pieces are so fun, the perfect mix of minimal and feminine which is best for summer I think. Pink used to be one of my least favorite colors when I was younger (I was a tomboy...still am lol) but I have really grown to love it! It's such a fun color to wear and it looks good on so many people! This shade, mixed with the bright bits in the flowers makes it a great go-to summer dress. You can never go wrong with florals this time of year right?

The Only Accessory You Need This Summer!

dawnphotography-32 dawnphotography-6 dawnphotography-17 dawnphotography-3 dawnphotography-19 dawnphotography-23
If you follow all of the online fashion sites that cover the trends, this post I'm sure will be of no surprise to you. The one accessory that is taking over and having some ladies put their basket bags on the shelf are beaded bags! Yep. Beaded bags are popping up all over instagram and the closets of fellow fashion lovers.
I'm usually 50/50 when it comes to trends. As a fashion blogger, I feel like I have to be relevant and wear things that are somewhat trendy while putting a spin on them that fits my personal style. But when it comes to beaded bags, this is one trend I am all for!
When I was browsing Etsy, I found a really cute, neutral colored beaded bag that fits my usual color palette so well but I also decided to go a bit outside of my normal style comfort zone and get this bright Susan Alexandra beaded bag
This beaded bag reminds me of the beaded animals I would make in middle school! Haha Which I am all for. It's just a fun and unique piece that makes me smile.

So what do you guys think? Are you into the beaded bag trend? If you are, make sure and check out some of my favorites below and let me know in the comments what you think of the trend!

What I'm Wearing: Swimsuit: Reformation (Top here, Bottom here) Similar options here and here, Scrunchie: Urban Outfitters, Sunglasses: Zara - Sold Out (Similar here and here)

dawnphotography-10 dawnphotography-12 dawnphotography-17 dawnphotography-19 dawnphotography-24
Try saying that 5 times fast. lol

I'm pretty sure this is the only time I have ever posted myself in a bikini on my blog! I was a little hesitant at first but Dawn (my friend and photographer) convinced me to just go for it. Plus this bathing suit is too cute not to share!
Reformation is one of those sites that I honestly check every other day to see what new styles they have and this swimsuit instantly caught my eye. The top was sold out though so I had to wait a few weeks until I could finally buy the complete set! The color was just really unique and I love this shade of green (fun fact: green is actually my favorite color!)

So I finally got this swimsuit in the mail. Initially, I had bought both the top and the bottom in the smock material but when I tried on the was bad. They made the crotch area look so strange! hahah I'm just being honest with you guys...this is probably TMI. I was so bummed though because I loved the swimsuit so much! Luckily, the bottoms were available in another material, same color, so I ended up getting those and I even tried a small size in the smocked version just in case. Long story short, the smocked top and normal bottoms ended up working great together and I love this bikini now! It ended up matching the Ace hotel perfectly too and was essential for beating the heat in Palm Springs.
I thought I would link a few swimsuits too, just in case you've been searching for a new one!

Five Airbnb's to stay at in Joshua Tree

dawnphotography-313 dawnphotography-329
Joshua Tree is noted for it's dreamy, instagram-able Airbnb's. The desert town is the perfect place to get away for the weekend to spend with friends or a loved one to escape the city and just unplug for a bit. I've been to Joshua Tree twice now and I'm already counting the days until I can go back. It's one of the most mesmerizing towns I've ever been, especially in the actual Joshua Tree National park. It feels like you're on another planet...and it's awesome.

dawnphotography-355 dawnphotography-358 dawnphotography-370 dawnphotography-374
With all of that being said, I thought I would do a round up of five really cool Airbnb's to check out and stay at in Joshua Tree! I've done my fair share of scrounging through the listings so I want to save you all the time and help you out. This is in no way sponsored! I've had the pleasure of staying at a couple of these places already and some are still on my bucket list.

Alright, here they are:

This is the listing that's featured in this post! And it was a DREAM. The minimalists ideal spot. Perfectly decorated and away from civilization. The only thing I would keep in mind is there is no AC at this listing so just make sure to be aware and/or visit in the cooler months. Other than that, this place is a gem! And I want that velvet couch so bad. haha
dawnphotography-379 dawnphotography-380 dawnphotography-385
This is probably one of the most well known Airbnb's in Joshua Tree and for good reason. It's incredible! I have yet to be able to stay there (it gets booked quickly!) but if you ever get a chance....make sure to take it!

Joshua Tree Acres is my FAVORITE Airbnb in all of Joshua Tree! I had the best experience there and still think of it to this day. The rooms are inside of Airsteams and they have an adorable club house to unwind and cook some food. Not to mention there is also a hot tub and now a new solar pool! I'm hoping I will get to visit again in the near future. Check out my photos form last year there!

Another adorable Airbnb! I think my favorite thing about this one has to be the Hammock and the GIANT joshua tree right outside. I haven't been to this one yet, so if you go...let me know how it is!

Last but not least! I have yet to go to this one too but by the images...I'm sure it's wonderful. Any place with a Smeg fridge has me sold! haha

So there it is! Five Airbnb's to stay at in Joshua Tree! Which one would you want to stay at? Let me know in the comments! And be sure to check out my Youtube video this Sunday that will have a behind the scenes of the desert trip from this year!
