Getting Ready with Got2b

I don't know how many dry shampoo's I have tried out, but it's been a lot! There have been so many that don't help out my hair at all and leave it looking the same or even worse. I am happy to say that I am loving Got2b's new dry shampoo! All of the fragrance's smell so good too!
Busy weeks can mean that it can be hard to find time to fix your hair. That's why dry shampoo has been a go to for me for years now! Sometimes, I even like to add a little bit in my hair after styling it to give it a little extra volume and hopefully prevent a bit of oiliness!

Got2b's new dry shampoo comes in three different scents: Clean, Tropical, and Floral! And it's conveniently available at Ulta! Another one of my go-to places!

Let me know what you guys think after trying it out!!

Spring Neutrals in Rainy Portland

6L0A3131 6L0A3114 6L0A3195 6L0A3162 6L0A3166 6L0A3149
As many of you know, I am a full time blogger here in Portland, OR! I love this city so much, it's constantly inspiring me and I feel really lucky to be so close to incredible outdoor locations and adorable local shops. But Portland rains SO much this time of year which can be really frustrating when you have lots of outfits you want to photograph. Last week, Leo (my boyfriend, who takes a lot of my photos) had a day off so we were planning on shooting a few looks. I was really feeling motivated and excited to get some outfits done. I got ready, had my outfits planned out and then of course it started to pour.
I know this sounds like such a small and dumb problem, compared to so many other issues currently going on it the world. But it really deflated my spirit and mood, and of course I started to cry.
We decided to try and take some images anyway and I was so happy we took a chance. These images turned out better than I imagined and you can hardly tell it was raining (luckily this adorable car was parked under a few trees!).
Basically, this little bump and change in plans made me realize that sometimes you can't force things and you just have to go with the flow! Things will most likely work itself out. Learning to brush small things off is so important and I'm really starting to learn that. Also, being self employed, I rarely ever just take a real break. I am constantly planning or shooting outfits or photos or posting something. Learning to step away just for a bit to recharge is really important for self health and care.

These pieces have been on repeat within the past year or so. I love wearing pieces different ways and then showing you all how I wear them! These Mari Giudicelli mules have been my go to since the minute I got them. They go with so many different outfits and seasons! Seriously my dream shoes.
I'm really looking forward to carrying this color palette through the rest of the season!

Local Love - TAH Bags

6L0A2452 6L0A2447 6L0A2463 6L0A2448 6L0A2421 6L0A2466
I love being able to partner with local brands, support Portland's small businesses and then sharing them with all of you! TAH, or 'tote a heel', is a Portland brand that strives for efficiency in their designs while still staying stylish. And they definitely nailed it. The quality of this bag really stands out and blends in perfectly with many of my outfits. The oversized tassel is probably my favorite thing about the bag. It makes such a cool statement on a classic bag.
Going into spring and summer again, I really am loving shaped bags again. I think a simple circle bag should be a staple in everyone's closet. They're just so fun too!

There's just nothing like the quality of a bag that was made by hand! If you have yet to get yourself a bag like this, I really recommend it. Investing in a piece made by hand will really end up lasting through the years.
TAH also has so many great tote bags if you find yourself always on the go and needing to take lots of things with you! That's actually what inspired the owner to create TAH, as she wanted a bag she could easily carry around her shoes for work with her as well as other items such as a laptop and work clothes. It can be hard finding quality tote bags that are still stylish, but TAH really has some great options. I LOVE their Commuter bag! Make sure and check out the TAH site and support local Portland brands!

Zappos X Cotton

6L0A2749 6L0A2768 6L0A2752 6L0A2719 6L0A2744
Sponsored by Zappos

When it comes to style, looking cute is always important but as I get more acquainted with my personal style I realize how important comfort is as well. I've mentioned this before, but I was an athlete growing up so I would mostly be found wearing my soccer uniform or track outfit, and if not, I always went for comfy tees and tomboy basics. My style has changed over the years but my love for being comfortable hasn't. There's something really great about being comfortable and having a great outfit at the same time, right?! Zappos has recently created a "pop up shop" on their site that is currently featuring some really great cotton pieces that are just that, cute and comfortable! I couldn't help but gravitate towards this Adidas track suit. It's effortlessly cool, and yes... SO COMFY!
Plus, I've been working out more often and I love having outfits that can work for running errands and swinging into the gym after.
Even if you're not into the whole "workout look", Zappos also included some great cotton dresses and other pieces that would be great for brunch with friends or a coffee date.

Dressing Down a Feminine Top

IMG_6961 dawnphotography-165 dawnphotography-175 dawnphotography-153 Snapseed 5 dawnphotography-174
I wonder how many times I've mentioned that I am a tomboy, well here it is again...I am totally a tomboy at heart. Growing up, I loved riding four wheelers with my dad, wore baggy clothes, and was always playing soccer or some sort of sport. That part of my childhood has really influenced my current personal style...once a tomboy, always a tomboy. But that doesn't mean that I don't love a good lace or floral top and dress here and there. One of my favorite things to do with really feminine pieces is to dress them with sneakers to make it a little more casual! It's just super fun!

I've actually been wearing sneakers a lot more than my blog shows. I wear them so much throughout the week since they're so comfortable! Most often I find myself wearing Converse, Vans, Adidas and Supergas...what is your go-to or do you have a few favorites as well??
I think pairing a nice backpack with this look, really seals the polished tomboy look. This leather backpack has been one of my favorites because it's so convenient for taking all of my things with me!

Also, I am determined to get as much wear out of this top as possible! It's a splurge but sometimes treating yourself is just worth it and you might be surprised how much you end up wearing the new piece since you love it so much!

Express Your Ambition

6L0A2600 6L0A2642 6L0A2624

The start of a new season can be the perfect time to try out new trends and take risks with your personal style. Sometimes it can be a little scary, especially if you're used to wearing the same thing frequently. But being ambitious with your personal style can be really rewarding! You might find out you really love to wear something that you just had never given a shot before. For me, I want to try and wear more color this year. This spring, color is a huge trend, and since I usually stick to a lot of neutrals and black and white, I want to try and branch out a little more. Neutrals are my favorite, so I won't be giving them up at all but I just want to hear and there try out more reds, blues, purples, yellows, and greens and see who I can incorporate them more into my everyday style.

Free People Wrap Top and Clogs

dawnphotography-128 dawnphotography-137 dawnphotography-123 Snapseed dawnphotography-127 dawnphotography-138 dawnphotography-146 Snapseed 8
This was one of those outfits that I had planned in my head for awhile and then when I finally put it all together, I fell in love with it even more! I used to work at Free People and I honestly had to take a small break from the brand. I was constantly surrounded by their clothing and part of my job was to actually wear pieces from the brand while at work (plus some other personal reasons) so I think after a couple of years a break was overdue. But the break is over and while I was browsing online one day, I saw this top and instantly bought it. It just has a sweet and simple vintage look to it that made me fall in love. Last year, I was all about wrap tops and I think this year might be the same! They're just a lot of fun and make a simple top a little more interesting. Plus they pair well with denim which is very important to me as well.

What do you guys think about clogs?! I am in love with them right now! For some reason, when I saw this top, I knew I wanted to pair it was a pair of clogs just to continue with the simple vintage look. Icons of the 60s and 70s are really inspiring me these days. Jane Birkin just always looked so effortless and had signature pieces she would wear multiple ways. And that's something I want to do more with my style!

Also, as a blogger, I do work with a lot of companies and brands that send me pieces to wear...and I am SO grateful for that! But I just wanted to quickly share that I bought this outfit myself! Combining high and low, vintage pieces with modern...and all me!
