Sigh. It’s officially the end of summer. I always look back and think of how my summer really went. I think back on the memories I made, the way I spent my days, and some things I didn’t quite get to do this year. One of the main things I really want to do next summer is another memorable road trip. This time last year, I was driving with my boyfriend through California down to Nevada. I had that sense of adventure and eagerness to start and see new things. It was a great feeling that I hope to feel again. The start and end of summer always gives me that urge to get away. What about you?
Anyways, I can’t thank my friend Courteney enough for letting me take over her car…which happens to be my DREAM car. I can only imagine the feeling of driving this down the California coast…

Northwest or Southwest?

6L0A04396L0A0427

Ok, I’ll be honest. There are days that I REALLY miss this desert. I miss that middle of nowhere feeling. That ability to go travel for the day and see things I’ve never see. And obviously the cactus/cacti. I’ve been in the Northwest my entire life basically and I really do love it so much. But the desert intrigues me. Moments like this, I’m so happy to wear this shirt! It’s made from a NW brand, Bridge & Burn but still represents the Southwest too. Basically the best of both worlds right?
So what are your thoughts? Is Northwest the best or are you desert obsessed? I WANNA KNOW!

They’re SO cool and cute and stuff, but I’ve had a few that are such a pain to make stay in place. Especially if you don’t have enough on top to fill out, if you know what I mean. So I can really appreciate a dress that already has the structure but the illusion of a wrap dress like this one.
Pairing sneakers with girly pieces has been one of my favorite things to do the past couple of seasons. I love wearing dresses, but I like to edge them up a bit with a good pair of tennis shoes or beat up boots.
Portland looks like such a big city in these photos! I really love it! I’m just pretending I’m on top of a tall building in New York, just in between fashion shows. Haha NOTTT.
Thanks so much again to Tish Carlson for these badass photos. These are some of my favorites yet!!

Transitioning your Summer Pieces to Fall

6L0A06206L0A06316L0A06596L0A06456L0A06136L0A0634 The whole idea of transitioning into fall might seem so out of reach for some of us, especially here in Portland since it finally started to really warm up this week! But we’re not far from those warm days that turn into chilly nights. I actually love the end of summer but it can be difficult to figure out what to wear during it. So I’ve decided to share some ideas of how you can rethink your summer closet and make it a little more fall friendly!

Ways to transition your summer pieces to fall:

1. Maxi/Midi dresses: These are perfect for both summer and fall! This one I am wearing is great light enough for warmer days but the long sleeve and length make it fall friendly as well.

2. Bring out those ankle boots! Some people don’t like wearing boots in the summer, which is fine, I actually love it! But they’re great for transitioning those summer dresses into more fall appropriate looks!

3. Try more fall inspired colors: Jewel tones and neutrals always remind me of fall and it’s the perfect way to slowly reintroduce your wardrobe to a fall mindset. I think this dress is a good example! I can’t wait to wear it throughout the next couple of months!

Those are just a couple of tips for ideas on how to get your summer wardrobe a little more on track for fall! I hope they helped! Let me know what you guys think and if you have any other great tips too!
